Kaya Toast and Eggs, 2020

Inspired by the works of William Eggleston’s colour photography. Kaya Toast and Eggs is a work that pushes my knowledge of what I know my own city of Singapore to be. I hope for viewers to find inspiration through this set of colourful and poetic photographs and reconsider what our perception of our city is. I hope for viewers of this work to question the possibility of these scenes that I have captured. The name “Kaya Toast and Eggs” follows my recent rediscovery of the food and having developed a liking for it again, just as I have rediscovered Singapore through this work.
