At times I sit and ponder, 2024
At Times, I Sit and Ponder explores my relationship with my parents through video and sound. A recording of my mother’s voice is layered and distorted until it becomes unrecognizable, reflecting how my perception of her feels warped and unclear. Similarly, a conversation with my father is manipulated to reduce his complexity to a simplified, one-sided image. The piece uses altered recordings to explore how memory and perspective can reshape our understanding of family, creating a space for reflection on connection and misconnection.
